Tutorial
Purpose
The application is a simple translator for dialogue mode. Auto playback and bluetooth features allow use it as a prompter for foreign phrases or trainer.
Installation
Go to app page in the Play Store and install it.
Software Requirements
The app works on Android 7.0+ device.
The App uses Google speech recognition for enter text. Prior Android 12 it is Google app. Post Android 12 it is Google Speech Recognition app. Android 12 can uses both. You need to install offline language packs for the languages if you plan to work without Internet.
The App use Google mlkit for translation. The correspondent models must be downloaded. Translation works offline.
The App uses default text-to-speech engine installed on your device. You must download voices for your languages if you want to use App offline.
How it works
On the translation settings page, the user selects his language and the language of the other person. Language models are then automatically downloaded for the selected languages. Once the models are downloaded, you can proceed to the dialogue window. At the bottom of the dialogue window, there are two buttons: the left one with an "Headphone" icon and the right one with a "Microphone" icon. Pressing the left button enables speech recognition of the other person and automatically translates into the user's language. Pressing the right button enables user's speech recognition with automatic translation into the other person language.
Premium Mode
Premium Mode unlocks the Always on Screen and Offline mode premium feature. The offline mode setting prohibits to use Network connection for Google speech recognizer.
